Board of Directors
The organization is a collaboration of individuals, many of whom are descendants of Holocaust survivors, dedicated to Holocaust education and cross-cultural outreach.

Elizabeth Kahn
President, Co-founder
Elizabeth Kahn co-founded the organization with her daughter, Helene Kahn Achour, in 2004. She is the daughter of Nanette Blitz Konig, a Dutch Jewish survivor of Bergen-Belsen and schoolmate of Anne Frank. Elizabeth’s international background includes living in Brazil, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Michigan, Illinois, and currently Miami, Florida.
She has been actively involved in numerous Jewish and non-Jewish organizations worldwide, including founding the Jewish Women’s Historical Society of Hong Kong. Elizabeth received recognition from the National Foundation for Jewish Culture for organizing a screening of “Anne Frank: The Biography” and facilitating Holocaust education events.
In 2004, Elizabeth and her daughter, Helene, developed a film script, “The Sea Between,” based on her parents’ courtship letters between England and Brazil. This project, along with extensive interviews and research, contributed to the book “With You, The World Keeps Turning” by Melissa Mueller, published in April 2025.
Elizabeth’s ongoing work includes documenting stories of survivors and their descendants, such as connecting with Lieutenant-Colonel-Major Leonard Berney, who played a role in her mother’s survival, and participating in commemorative media events for the 80th anniversary of Bergen-Belsen’s liberation.Elizabeth’s commitment to Holocaust education, her cross-cultural outreach, and efforts to uncover and share family and survivor histories, emphasizes the importance of continued learning and remembrance

Frederick Kahn
Vice-president
Son of Elizabeth Kahn, Fred Kahn is Co-Founder, Co-CEO, and Chairman of Kooick, where he leads corporate and product strategy, capital formation, and organizational development as the company scales its autonomous retail platform.
Prior to Kooick, Fred was a Managing Partner at Metrica Investments, a merchant banking firm focused on cross-border special situations. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and restructurings for corporate, institutional investor, and family office clients globally.
Fred has served on the boards of various non-profits, including the University of Michigan Hillel. As a father of two daughters, he is committed to combating anti-semitism through Holocaust education.
Fred holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Helene Kahn Achour
Secretary, Co-founder
Daughter of Elizabeth Kahn and Co-founder of The Forever After Project, Inc., Helene has been actively involved in Holocaust education and awareness programs throughout her life.
Helene graduated Magna Cum Laude in Economics from the University of Michigan. During her four years there, Helene held several important roles in organizing the University of Michigan’s Annual Conference of the Holocaust, a two-week long compilation of events including lectures, panels, art exhibitions, panel discussion, plays etc. aimed at increasing Holocaust awareness and promoting tolerance. As an active member and Co-Chair her senior year, Helene’s responsibilities ranged from overseeing programming and publicity, to fundraising for the Conference. Helene collaborated with her mother Elizabeth to Co-chair a private screening of the film “Anne Frank: The Biography” at ABC 7 Studios in Chicago. The screening was followed by a discussion panel for an audience of over 250 individuals including high school students from the Chicago Public Schools. Helene completed her MBA at New York University with a specialization in Media, Entertainment and Technology.

Elizabeth Grzebinski
Treasurer
The Forever After Project, Inc. holds a special place in her heart as she has known several Holocaust survivors and their children and has been deeply touched by their resilience in the face of unspeakable violence and tragedy.
Elizabeth together with her husband David and three young children live in Houston TX. There the three children attend Jewish Day Schools to which the family is committed, The Beth Yeshurun Day School, a Solomon Schecter affiliate and The Beren Academy, a Modern Orthodox school both to which Elizabeth donates and dedicates her time and resources.
Elizabeth is very involved with Jewish causes and is a member of the Executive Board of the Houston Jewish Federation, the Board of the Beth Yeshurun Synagogue, and is a recent Wexner graduate. In 2008, she won the Jewish Federation’s Young Leadership Award for Houston, TX. Elizabeth is also committed to Medical Bridges, a Houston based charity that ships surplus medical supplies to needy people around the world. In the past whilst living in Chicago, IL. Elizabeth volunteered her skills to the Chicago Abused Women’s Coalition, where she worked with their Board of Directors to develop a long term strategic plan for the organization.
Elizabeth Grzebinski was born in New Orleans, LA. and has a Finance degree from Louisiana State University which she attended on scholarship. Before children, Elizabeth held various positions over her 10 year career with Dow Chemical. Those positions include Credit Manager for the Plastics Division, Sales Manager for Ion Exchange Resins, and Business Analyst for Corporate. Prior to her work experience at Dow Chemical, she was a manager at the New Orleans Federal Reserve Bank.

Paul Brink
Legal Counsel
Paul, an attorney, is a retired Director of Taxation and Director of Risk Management for The Dow Chemical Company where he pursued a long career, both nationally and internationally.
For the past 15 years, he has been president of the Warm Hearts Foundation, a Michigan based nonprofit organization, supporting education, clean water, healthcare initiatives, and self-determination projects in Malawi and Kenya.
He is also Board Chair of Imaging the World, a non-profit organization in Vermont providing portable ultrasound machines and the training to use them to nurses and midwives working in impoverished rural areas of Uganda, Kenya and Malawi in an attempt to reduce the number of maternal deaths in those areas.
Paul is also a founding board member of Opening Village Doors Foundation, a nonprofit organization, providing micro-loans for startup businesses in the slums of Nairobi.
He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy. In prior years, he has served on the board of the Inter community school of Zürich, the committee on taxation of the international Chamber of Commerce in Paris, the Midland area Chamber of Commerce, the Midland Economic Development Council, Conflict Resolution Services of Traverse City, and the Inland Seas Education Association of Suttons Bay, Michigan.

Henry Kahn
Director
Husband of Elizabeth Kahn, and Director of Forever After Project, Inc., Henry is a son of German Jewish parents, survivors of the Holocaust and refugees of Nazi Germany. He has provided significant support to Forever After during production of the feature documentary as well as managing the administrative part of the organization.
Henry has been an Executive in the Corporate Finance area for the last 35 years. A graduate in Industrial Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a M.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A from Columbia University, New York, he pursued a Global career working in Latin America, Europe, Asia and the USA, for Dow Chemical, FMC Corporation and Westlake Group as Treasurer and CFO.
During these assignments, and his life around the world with his family, he has always been particularly interested in promoting tolerance and better understanding amongst people of different cultures and backgrounds

Rabbi Asher Lopatin
Director
Rabbi Asher Lopatin is the the rabbi of Kehillat Etz Chayim in Detroit and the Director of Community Relations at the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor. He is a Rhodes Scholar with an M.Phil in Medieval Arabic Thought from Oxford University. He has rabbinic ordination from Rav Ahron Soloveichik and Yeshiva University, and is a permanent member of the Council On Foreign Relations. Rabbi Lopatin is married to Rachel Tessler Lopatin and they have four children.

Melissa Mueller
Director
Austrian born Melissa Müller has made a name for herself as an author of contemporary nonfiction and documentaries. Her books, including Anne Frank: The Biography and (together with Traudl Junge) Until the Final Hour: Hitler’s Secretary, are international bestsellers that have been translated into more than 25 languages. The two-part ABC miniseries Anne Frank: The Whole Story, based on her biography, starring Ben Kingsley and Hannah Taylor Gordon, received two Primetime Emmy Awards, and Downfall (based on Until the Final Hour) earned a nomination for the Best International Film Oscar. Müller’s latest works are Uncle Hermann. Mark Potts
Director
Mark Potts is a lifelong advocate for education, international cooperation, and cultural preservation. He grew up in Midland, Michigan, where he developed close friendships with members of the Kahn and Blitz-Konig families. These early relationships helped inspire Mark’s enduring commitment to remembrance and education.
Mark graduated from the University of Michigan, where he studied alongside Helene and Fred, further deepening connections that continue to inform his perspective and work. After graduating, he taught in Austria as part of the Fulbright Program, promoting cross-cultural understanding through education.
He later served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bulgaria (2000–2002), where he worked on the preservation of UNESCO World Heritage sites and supported public service initiatives within the Political Cabinet of Foreign Minister Solomon Passy, contributing to Bulgaria’s accession to the European Union and NATO.
In the United States, Mark is a licensed attorney. His professional work spans academia, business, and philanthropy, reflecting a sustained commitment to education, international engagement, and the preservation of historical memory.
As a member of the Forever After Project’s Board, Mark brings both a personal connection to its founding families and a deep professional dedication to ensuring that the memory of the Holocaust continues to educate and inspire future generations.
